Jakob und Rieke auf Weltenreise

Day number four

We´re almost used to the natural sound scenery that the boatloads of insects are creating around us. Miki and our neighbour Richard have just returned in the Japanese Izusu Elf, the back carrying 350 Gallons of water. It´s been a hard day for everybody here, but we´ve come a lot further.

Rieke and I helped Lise prepare her presentation about ecological composting which she held this afternoon, explaining to Jamaican farmers that artificial fertilizers and GMOs have no valid future compared to the power of nature´s helping hand while working on a farm like “Durga´s Den” – and Poppie helped her.

So after the white pickup truck had left the property, Lattore and the other Miki needed our help transplanting seedlings from the green house to “the front” beds. Even though the first thought of this task doesn´t allow any sweat to moist your forehead, constantly squatting down and being extremely careful with these vulnerable and tiny organisms makes you feel tired at 1pm. Luckily we were four people for the job and a lot new details waited to make their way through Lattore´s and Miki´s wise mouths to our listening ears. “What is this plant called? What do you do this for?“ “How is it spelled?” “We don´t understand Patois. Can you say it again?”

Kerry had made nice lunch for the four of us on the farm – and the afternoon was hot and energy-consuming. We got off at three and had time to relax for ourselves. After a nap, we went down to the Yogaplatform, got a picture of the ocean and Rieke trusted me to cut her hair and vice versa.

? Nice to be able to take the time for these things ?

Let´s see what waits tomorrow!

The tree with the flowers is called: King of the forest Molding and weeding the plants. A small break among the plants. Miki Lattore  Jakobs new toy. Ha ha, are you sure you want to do this? Where the ocean melts with the horizon. At dusk
